Marty Moates 1957-2006  RIP
We got word yesterday that motorcross legend Marty Moates passed away on Dec. 7th.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the Moates family and friends. Marty was a true ambassador
to American motorcross and a really great guy.

Los Angeles, CA. - The Figure 8 One-Hour World Championship at Irwindale
Speedway on Saturday, October 1 had a winner’s share of $10,000. That is what
the Indianapolis Speedrome paid the winner on the Labor Day weekend for a
three-hour Figure 8 World Championship race. Sponsorship from Cisco Burgers in
Long Beach made the largest Irwindale Figure 8 purse possible. The event
attracted seven drivers from outside California-three from Figure 8 hotbed Indiana and
four from Washington. It was the third annual fall Irwindale Figure 8 open.

The IS Figure 8 One-Hour World Championship October 1 had 19 starters and
ten cars running at the finish. The top three drivers-Corey Turner, Billy
Ziemann and Jesse James-all had 100 laps and finished on the same straight, with
no lapped cars between them. Apparent winner Turner and his crew celebrated at
the finish line after the one-hour race. However, his car was disqualified
after post-race technical inspection found that his No. 00 had used soaked tires
to improve grip. That was not allowed. His DQ excluded Turner from the
official finish and resulted in no purse for the Indiana team. The Turner and Bear
teams met with race director Lester Boyer, understood the penalties and shook
hands before leaving IS. Ziemann (the leader from lap 86-100) got the $10,000
first place check. James, who was driving his new F-8 special that he purchased
in Indiana, was second. Bear, the race leader for the first 85 laps, moved up
to third with the DQ for his fellow Hoosier.

Last night the U.S. National Speedway Championship rocked the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Charlie "the edge" Venegas won his second National title. Special thanks goes out to Cody
and Zoey for custom making Ike's sick coat he wore last night.  Check out THE CAT WALK in

return of former American world champions Billy "the Bullet" Hammel and Greg Hancock.  You can also

Congrats to Josh Larsen the new California State Speedway Champion. This event was held
last Saturday night at Industry Hills Speedway, City of Industry, Calif.  It was an awesome night
of racing!  Josh has been the brides maid (2nd place) four times in the National Championship so
it was great to see him finally win a prestigious title such as the Calif. State.

Last weekend rocked at the OC Fair with speedway motorcycle racing and FMX.  Ike announced both
Friday and Saturday night events and is his voice is recovering today. This coming
Saturday night Ike is announcing the California State Speedway Motorcycle Champinship at

& Bruce Flanders 13th annual ugly Hawaiian shirt contest next Sunday morning
before the 32nd annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 9.  Other prizes
include tickets to opening night at Costa Mesa Speedway May 6th, tickets for Irwindale Speedway,
and Boot Hill Choppers Apparel. The contest take place in front of grandstand 27 sometime
between 9:00 am & 9:30 am.

Electric race cars that haul ass. After only 6 races Ike is in the 97th percentile ranked
745 out of the 28,972 people that have driven the Karts. "I need more practice but I'm definitely hooked" said Ike.

The Queen Mary speedway motorcycle event was awesome last weekend!  Ike is a little under the weather
today with a blood clot on the right side of his head from a dentist visit yesterday. While the dentist was injecting
the numbing juice he hit a vien and the side of Ike's face filled with blood.  Ike is resting comfortably today at home using a
frozen burrito to apply to the side of his face to take the swelling down, seriously!

This weekends event on the Queen Mary (link above) looks like it's going to be pretty cool. Bruce Flanders
and Ike are the MC's for the event.  Ike is also going to be the auctioneer on Sunday. "They have a lot of cool stuff
to auction off" said Ike.  "I told the promoters I wasn't a professional auctioneer but they still want me to do it.
Bring your check book and come on down, some good deals may be had due to lack of talent by
the rookie auctioneer!"

Ike displayed a funny sign to the media before last nights American League Championship game at
Angel Stadium.  Out in front of the stadium ABC Channel 7 News (Los Angeles) interviewed Ike on the 4 PM News.
 Ike also appeared "live" on the Channel 9 News in Los Angeles and FOX News in Chicago. The photo below was
on the Associated Press Wire minutes after it was confiscated inside the stadium by a cool Anahiem cop
who said he agreed with Ike.

Went out last night and checked out the Cisco Burgers Figure 8 World Championship
tonight at Irwndale Speedway.  A good crowd of spectators and competitors were on hand as $10,000
was on the liine for first place.  Jesse James and West Coast Choppers sponsored the event.  The main
event was pretty sick, Jesse James ened up third.  The some fast dude from back east totally screwed up!
The dude was leading the entire field by at least 2 laps when a red flag came out.  He looked up at the
score board and saw 60 at the top so he figured the one hour timed race was over and he had won!
He then went over and placed his car up against the crash wall and burned off his tires for the crowd!  The
race was not over, the 60 he read was the laps they had completed. He tried to recover by changing his tires
but on re-enty to the track he blew by the stop sign one of the officials was holding and was black flagged.
Moral of the damn story, race like hell till you see the checked flag!

The US National Speedway Motorcycle Championship was an awesome night of racing.
Chris Manchester won his third title last Saturday night. The main event was sick!  Radical Ryan
Fisher banged it off the crashed and almost took down himself and Manchester who went on to win\over Mike
Faira.  Charlie Venegas won the B main and Bobby Schwartz was 2nd.  Speedway returns to the
O.C. Fairgrounds for the final race of the year October 15th.  FMX will highlight the Fall Classic along with
 more sick speedway racing!  Don't miss it!

Back up and running after having our computers down. Hey O.C. Harley night
is only 2 weeks away on August 27th, so start planning to be there!  Don't forget
Ike's ride to speedway.  Be ready to leave from O.C. Harley in Irvine by 3:30 p.m. It's a kick ass
ride you don't want to miss.  You get to ride out on the race track in front of 6,000 people before
the National Anthem is played, it's pretty cool.

Update on FMX rider Jeff "Ox" Kargola that was seriously injured June 25th.
The "Ox' is now home from the hospital recovering from a broken femur
and collapsed lung. His stay in the hosital was longer than expected because
of his collapsed lung. We wish the Ox a speedy recovery.

Speedway rider Chris Manchester had a bad crash during the main event at the O.C. Fair
Speedway Derby last Friday night July 8th. Manchester was taken by ambulance to the
hospital after being knocked out. The good news...He was released with no broken bones
and is resting at home.

Freestyle MX Jumper Seriously Injuried
At Costa Mesa Speedway

Freestyle Motocross jumper Jeff "The Ox" Kargola was seriously
injured last night in a horrifying crash at Costa Mesa Speedway.  The Ox
with setting up to do a back flip when something went terribly wrong. As he hit the
take off ramp his hands came off the handlebars sending him flying about
50 feet through the night air crashing hard at the base of the dirt landing ramp. The Ox
sustained a compound facture of his femur bone in his leg among other injuries. He
was taken taken by ambulance to a southern California trauma center. The Ox is one
of the most talented freestyle riders in the world today.  We wish him a
speedy recovery.  We will post an another update on his condition as soon as it
becomes available.

Dudes on choppers, full dressers, the whole works raced
and crashed on the dirt oval race track in front
of 6,000 screaming party animals!  Ike's 50 mile ride down
through the beach communities then to Costa Mesa Speedway had an
awesome turn out and it was a great ride. The final O.C. Harley
night will be in August, so stay tuned!

The articles below are from today's San Bernardino Sun Newspaper
and Victorville's Daily Press.  We rode home through Amboy and Twenty Nine Palms a few
hours before the accident below.  We saw another motorcycle crash in this
same area, about 8 miles east of Twenty Nine Palms on old route 66.  It appeared to
involve one Harley Road King rider that went down in the shoulder beside the road.

VICTORVILLE — Two-wheeled thunder shuddered highway travelers
on Sunday as throngs of motorcycle riders headed home from
the 23rd annual Laughlin River Run.

The congestion proved to be too much for some, as the California Highway
Patrol was busy Sunday responding to multiple accidents in the High Desert.

The worst of those occurred just before 2 p.m. when two people
died in a two-car collision that sent one of them into oncoming
motorcycles on Amboy Road in Wonder Valley, according to the San Bernardino
County Coroner's Office.

A westbound 1998 Ford Mustang collided with an eastbound
Pontiac Grand Am, sending the Pontiac spinning into four Harley Davidson
motorcycles that were also traveling westbound, according to
the coroner's report.

One motorcycle rider, Michael Joseph Mount, 46, of Aliso Viejo, and the driver
of the Pontiac, Stephen Phillip Benson, 56, from Twentynine Palms,
were pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner said.

Several other people involved in the accident were taken
to area hospitals, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Their conditions were not immediately known.

The Laughlin River Run itself was a relatively peaceful event.
Last year there were 127 arrests; this year that number fell to 89.
Motorcycle thefts dropped from 27 last year to 14 over the weekend.

We rode back to so cal from Laughlin today. We hit rain out by Moreno Valley
on the 60, reminding us how much it sucks to ride in the damn rain!  Some
dude went down real hard between Amboy and twenty nine palms on
route 66.  A lot of people were stopped along side the road helping him out so
we didn't stop.  It was a gray late model Harley Road King that went down.  A lady
that stopped told us they said it looked like he was going to be ok.  His bike looked
like it went end over end in the soft sand along the road, so we
certainly hope he's ok.

What an Awesome Weekend!  We would like to thank everyone that
attended the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Announcers Pre-Race
Party last thursday night. Also Special Thanks to Doug and Renee and the
entire staff of Bubba Gumps Shrimp Company Restaurant
in Long Beach. We had an awesome time!  Jesse Rooke had his custom bikes
on display in front of the Westin Hotel all weekend long.  Keep up the good

We would like to thank Gary Denton of Weekend Warrior Trailers and
Jeff Denton at Giant RV.  B.H.C is picking up a new Super lite toy
hauler this morning. The Super Lite line of trailers are awesome,
they can be pulled by 1/2 ton trucks, yet they sport all the cool stuff.
The new B.H.C. trailer is the FS2300 (front sleeper)

Finally blue sky in so cal and our Internet is back up and running today!
The rain screwed up the underground cables and our Internet connection
went south three days ago. The cable dude fixed it today
so were back up and running.

Anaheim Supercross Jan. 8, 2005 - Angel Stadium
Last night it rained most of the night. The mainevent turned into
a 12 lap mud bog. All the top riders went down at least once in the main.

BTW: changing the name of the Anaheim Angels to
the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, is stupid
in our opinion.

Texas Chopper provided by Lifestyle Cycles in Anaheim, California.
Ike plans to write a road test on it after the filming is done.

Guitar legend Dick Dale played the national anthem with his 12 year old
son Jimmy Dale. Ike announced the event.

Tonight it's Harley night at Speedway at the Grand
in Industry Hills, CA. This new speedway track is located at
Industry Hills Equestrian Center off Azuza Ave., between Interstate
10 and the 60. If you ride your Harley there tonight between 5:50 and 6:30 pm
you get in FREE!  Ike is doing the TV commentating.

New California Bill:  Last Saturday night the folks from ABATE told Ike
that California Governor Arnold S. signed a new bill that will go into effect
January 1, 2005. This new bill will allow motorcycle riders to legally have
handlebars 6 inches above their shoulders.

First, we have to say O.C. Harley night last Saturday night was Awesome!
The Harley races were wild and crazy just as we expected. O.C. Harley had
all the new 2005 bikes on display. The crowd was large and everyone had
a great time!

Lifestyle Cycles in Anahiem California has asked Ike to do a road test on one of
the new Amercian Iron Horse Texas Choppers. We hope to have this road test on the
site after the test in the very near future.

Don't forget the X games coming up this weeknd on ESPN. Yesterday, we ran into
Metal Mulisha freestyle bad boy Brian Deegan up at Hells Kitchen. He was riding his new
rigid chopper that Jesse James and West Coast Chopper delivered to him. Brian said he
tuned up for the X Games over the weekend jumping in Hunington Beach. When we asked
him what he's going to pull off at the X Games? he said a 360, very cool!  Rumor also
has it that Travis Pastrana is going to do a double back flip. This weekend on ESPN

A quick reminder to those of you that live in southern California. Costa Mesa Speedway
opens back up after the O.C. Fair on saturday night August 14th. The night will be
highlighted with a complete night of speedway motorcycle racing, plus freestyle
motocross jumping. Jeff Kargola of the Metal Mulisha will be attemting a back flip
off the regular 100 foot ramp, not a kicker ramp.

August  28th is Orange County Harley  Night, speedway motorcycle racing, plus
hardcore Harley races, choppers, sportsters, dressers, the whole
works racing on the dirt track, it's a crazy night you don't want to miss!
